Kazakhstan scaling up oil exports in 2023 — energy minister

According to Almassadam Satkaliyev, "oil exports also increased and totaled 70.5 mln metric tons or 109.6%"

ASTANA, March 5. /TASS/. Kazakhstan increased oil exports as of 2023 year-end to 70.5 mln metric tons, Energy Minister Almassadam Satkaliyev said at the ministry’s board meeting.

"In 2023, 90 mln metric tons of oil were produced, which is 6.9% higher than the 2022 figure. Construction of the 5th and the 6th compressors with the completion time in 2025 and 2028 respectively kicked off at the Karachaganak [field] as part of projects to support the production plateau at the level of 10-11 mln metric tons per year. Oil exports also increased and totaled 70.5 mln metric tons or 109.6%," Satkaliyev said.

Kazakhstan exported 64.3 mln metric tons of oil in 2022, he added.
