Minsk, Moscow developing operating rules for common electricity market

MINSK, January 10. /TASS/. Belarus and Russia are developing rules for functioning of their common electricity market, Energy Minister of Belarus Viktor Karankevich said.

"Governments of Belarus and Russia, relevant ministries and agencies completed huge work on creation of required conditions for market operation. An agreement on its establishment was prepared, which passed through internal state procedures; market functioning rules are being finalized," the minister said, quoted on the Telegram channel of the ministry.

The work continues on common principles of functioning and regulation of the common gas market, Karankevich noted. "Our position is that processes of forming common electricity and gas markets be intertwined," he added.
