TASS, January 10. The grain production in Yakutia increased by 20% year over year, to 12,000 tons, the regional government's press service reported.
"The region's increase in gross grain production is by 20% - up to 12,000 tons, in production of vegetables - by 17% - to more than 30,000 tons, of hay - by 20% - to about 470,000 tons, the egg production growth is by 10% - to 170 million pieces, milk production - by 2.5% - to over 160,000 tons," the press service said.
Yakutia accounts for 14% of the total number of horses in the country - according to preliminary data, 182,000 animals live there. The region is ranked third among the Russian Federation's territories in terms of the number of domestic reindeer - 170,000.
In 2023, the record financing of agriculture topped 15.8 billion rubles ($177 million). Over past four years, subventions to municipal districts and the city of Yakutsk to support the agricultural sector increased from 4.3 ($48 million) to 7.3 billion ($81 million) rubles - by more than 70%, where the share of subventions to local budgets under the state program increased from 40% to 47%. According to instructions from the region's Governor Aisen Nikolaev, from January 1, the subsidy for 1 liter of milk makes 65 rubles ($0.7), for private farms - up to 39,000 ($436). Subsidies for grain and vegetables producers have also increased.
The governor has ordered to form an agricultural network of big sustainable enterprises with up-to-date production capacities, which will make at least 60% of the region's gross agricultural product. Within five years, the region will create at least 15 local production development areas with new high-performance jobs.
