Self-navigating ferry starts voyages to Kaliningrad

MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. The eco-ferry General Chernyakhovsky will make the first self-navigating voyage on the Ust-Luga - Kaliningrad line, TASS reports from the launch ceremony.

"We start the first self-navigating voyage for the General Chernyakhovsky sea ferry today. I would like to note that this is not a test launch. This is a start of full-fledged commercial operation of the vessel that is to deliver important social goods to the Kaliningrad Region," Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov said.

"Owing to project execution, Russia is among global leaders in developing and using autonomous vessel navigation. I congratulate all project participants," the official added.
