Russia eyeing increase of oil supplies to Uzbekistan — Deputy PM

At the same time, Russia supports the aspiration of Uzbekistan to tap its own mineral and feedstock base and is ready to continue discussing partnership in geology and subsoil use sphere, Denis Manturov said

MOSCOW, December 15. /TASS/. Russia is considering an opportunity of scaling up exports of oil and petroleum products to Uzbekistan, Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said at the meeting of the bilateral commission on economic cooperation.

"We pay much attention to cooperation in the energy sector. We are exploring an opportunity of increasing supplies of oil and petroleum products to Uzbekistan," Manturov said.

Russia supports at the same time the aspiration of Uzbekistan to tap its own mineral and feedstock base and is ready to continue discussing partnership in geology and subsoil use sphere.

"We already have successful projects of oil and gas exploration in the Aral Sea area and in adjacent territories. Seismic exploration of hydrocarbon feedstock was completed in the territory of Uzbekistan for the first time in the post-Soviet history. Its results make possible to forecast the discovery of large, predominantly gas, fields in the region," the official stressed.
