NOVOSIBIRSK, November 28. /TASS/. Food Export Trade production-export firm based in Russia’s Novosibirsk (part of the New Land Grain Corridor group of companies) will supply 26 mln tons of grain to Iran in 2024-2035. A respective agreement was signed as part of an official visit of Iran’s delegation to Moscow, the company’s press service told TASS.
"The plan is to supply 26 mln tons of grain from 2024 to 2035 with potential increase to 55 mln tons," the company said.
The deal was signed with Iran’s logistics firm IranianEurasia Trading and Logistics, a resident of Sarakhs Special Economic Zone, through which runs the major transit route from Central Asian and Middle Eastern countries.
"The agreement stipulates the joint Russian-Iranian creation of facilities of inland grain and transport-logistics infrastructure in Sarakhs Special Economic Zone, including with the use of cutting-edge Russian experience and technologies," the press service said.
The deal is aimed at ensuring Russia’s and Iran’s food security, increasing bilateral trade, and it also contributes to the development of the North-South international transport corridor, the company added.
Food Export Trade LLC is part of the New Land Grain Corridor Group of companies, which implements the New Land Grain Corridor Program supported by Russian President, Prime Minister and the government, as well as intergovernmental commissions and the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
