MOSCOW, November 15. /TASS/. Foreign teams and 34 teams from Russian regions will participate in the second Youth Arctic Delphic Games, Director of the International Delphic Committee and a member of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO Vladimir Ponyavin said.
"The participants will feature teams from Russia's 34 regions and from [other] countries," he said. "The total amount of participants, which is not a big format for us, is about 600 people, but for the Arctic direction this is a huge event, as we know clearly that events of the kind, that are organized in the Arctic zone, are only one or two."
The first Games in Syktyvkar in 2022 featured about 600 participants.
The Komi Region's Governor Vladimir Uiba said the region is ready to be a permanent host of the Arctic Delphic Games. "The Games have become another opportunity for many people to learn our region and to learn about the opportunities we offer here for the active creative youth. Komi contributes to the project's mission - to unite the gifted young Russians and to discover new talents in the country. We are ready, if it happens so, to become a permanent venue. We will be very happy about it, although we understand there are many more Arctic regions that also want to join and host the Delphic Games," the governor said.
The upcoming competitions will be filled with even more colors and moods, he continued. "The Games, especially the opening and closing ceremonies, will be even more spectacular and memorable."
The second Open Youth Arctic Delphic Games will be held in the Komi Region between November 20 and 24, 2023. The Delphic Games of Russia are annual complex competitions among creatively gifted children and youth. The competition and festival programs include contents in artistic, applied and research nominations that favor the identification of young talents and unique specialists.
