MOSCOW, October 23. /TASS/. The Russian Agriculture Ministry suggests importing 580 metric tons of milk serum for dry infant formulas production from countries under the Russian food embargo in 2024.
The relevant draft resolution of the ministry has been posted on the official web portal of regulatory acts.
"To approve the authorized volume of imports of the goods to the Russian Federation - dry demineralized milk serum with the demineralization level of 90%, intended for production of dry infant formulas (breast milk substitutes), and commercial tests and startup of the equipment for manufacturing of such products <...> in 2024 according to the appendix to this resolution," the document states.
Authorized imports of such products in 2024 may total 580 metric tons, according to the appendix to the draft resolution.
In March 2023, the ministry suggested importing 1,500 metric tons of milk serum for infant formulas in 2023, which is more than two times smaller than the figure in 2022.
