Kremlin comments on Russian ship in Swedish waters near site of Nord Stream ruptures

It is reported that four leaks were discovered in late September on the Nord Stream gas link, with the most recent one pinpointed by Sweden’s coast guard

MOSCOW, October 27. /TASS/. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said he does not have information on whether the Russian vessel, spotted in the economic zone of Sweden, is carrying out its investigation into the Nord Stream pipeline ruptures. He announced this talking to reporters on Thursday.

Earlier, Swedish media reported that a vessel under the Russian flag had arrived in the economic zone of Sweden, where the damaged lines of the Nord Streams are located. When asked if this information means that Moscow has launched its own investigation into the emergencies Peskov said: "I don’t have information on this. I just don’t know what kind of ship it is and what actions are being carried out there. I can’t answer you."

Four leaks were discovered in late September on the Nord Stream gas link, with the most recent one pinpointed by Sweden’s coast guard. On September 27, the Nord Stream AG company reported that three threads of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 offshore gas pipelines had suffered unprecedented damage on September 26. Swedish seismologists later revealed that two explosions had been recorded along the Nord Stream pipelines on September 26. The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation opened a case on charges of international terrorism after the damage to gas pipelines.
