Russian mobile games market to grow by 25% to $1.2 bln in 2022 — expert

As Denis Kuskov said, the reason for the growing popularity of mobile games is that Russians are tired of news

MOSCOW, October 25. /TASS/. The mobile games market in Russia will grow by 25% to $1.2 bln by the end of the year, CEO of information and analytical agency TelecomDaily Denis Kuskov told TASS.

"The volume of the mobile games market in Russia in 2021 reached $960 mln, in 2022 it will grow by 25% to $1.2 bln," Kuskov said, adding that last year the figure grew by only 12%.

The reason for the growing popularity of mobile games is that Russians are tired of news, Kuskov said.

Earlier, Kuskov told RBC that the growth in the popularity of online games is also associated with the lack of new movies in cinemas and the declining traffic in shopping malls.
