Russian warplanes strike command post, militant hideaways in Syria

According to the deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties in the Arab Republic, Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, they were in the province of Idlib

MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. Warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces delivered strikes on a command post and the underground hideouts of militants responsible for attacking Syrian troops, the deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria said on Wednesday.

"The Russian aerospace forces delivered air strikes on facilities in the Idlib province, controlled by members of illegal armed groups responsible for shelling of positions held by the Syrian army. A command post, underground shelters and equipment were hit," Rear Adm. Vadim Kulit said.

On Wednesday, the Russian reconciliation center distributed 2.8 metric tons of food to civilian residents of the Al-Hasakah province. In a separate development, Russian forces helped 61 refugees leave the US-occupied Al-Tanf zone, plagued by a severe humanitarian crisis.

Also, the Russian center registered eight shelling attacks on positions held by Syrian government troops, carried out by the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group (outlawed in Russia).

"Aircraft of the so-called US-led global coalition against terrorism continues to provoke dangerous situations in the skies above Syria, by letting its aircraft fly in breach of deconfliction protocols and in violation of Syrian airspace," Kulit said. "A total of 10 violations were registered in the Al-Tanf zone over the past 24 hours, committed by two pairs of F-15 fighter jets, two pairs of F-16 fighter jets, one pair of Typhoon fighters and two MQ-1C multirole unmanned aerial vehicles of the coalition," he said.
