US-led coalition’s aircraft violate Syrian airspace 17 times in past day

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the incidents were recorded in the Al-Tanf area

MOSCOW, October 27. /TASS/. The US-led coalition’s fighter jets and drones violated Syria’s airspace in the al-Tanf area 17 times during the past day, Vadim Kulit, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria (a division of the Russian defense ministry), said on Friday.

"Four pairs of F-15 and four pairs of F-16 fighter jets, as well as one MQ-1C multi-role unmanned aerial vehicle violated Syria’s airspace in the al-Tanf area, across which international air routes run, seventeen times during the day," he said.

According to Kulit, three violations of the deconfliction protocols of December 9, 2019 linked with the flights by the coalition drones were reported in Syria in the past 24 hours.

"The coalition continues to create dangerous situation that may cause air accident or incidents and escalate the situation in Syria’s airspace," he said.

"One Syrian soldier was wounded as a result of shelling conducted by terrorists from the settlement of Beitarun at the positions of Syrian government forces near the settlement of Bala in the Aleppo governorate," he said.

Apart from that, in his words, during the day, seven shelling attacks on the positions of government forces from the positions of the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group and Turkistan Islamic Party (both outlawed in Russia) were reported in the Idlib de-escalation zone.

He also said that the Russian reconciliation center conducted two humanitarian operation and delivered 5.4 tons of food to the settlements of Hayan in the Aleppo governorate and al-Diabiya in the Damascus governorate.
