"Speaking about the strategic nuclear forces, the level of modern weaponry is more than 80%," the Russian defense minister pointed out

ROSTOV-ON-DON, July 14. /TASS/. The Russian Armed Forces boast the highest level of modern weaponry among the world’s armies, Russia’s Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on Wednesday.

"Today all understand and state, someone with anger and someone with approval, that the Russian Army has over 70% of advanced armaments and military hardware or almost 71%, to be more exact. This is the highest percentage among the world’s armies," the defense chief said.

"Speaking about the strategic nuclear forces, the level of modern weaponry is more than 80%. This figure equals 83% for the strategic nuclear forces that are the backbone of the nuclear deterrence system, our nuclear shield," Shoigu said.
