MOSCOW, May 8. /TASS/. Chinese specialists have given positive marks to Russia’s Ansat rotorcraft as part of the certification validation framework, Russian Helicopters’ press service told reporters on Tuesday.
Representatives from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) visited the Kazan Helicopter Plant (KVZ) in line with the validation procedure arrangements for the Russian-grade certificate for the Ansat. They inspected the chopper’s entire assembly chain. In addition, joint flight tests, an assessment of the equipment and a validation flight of the helicopter were also provided.
"The report by inspectors that visited Kazan Helicopters should underpin any decision on the validation of the Russian-class certificate in this country. We received only positive marks from the Chinese side. I hope therefore that the decision will be positive and will be taken soon," Russian Helicopters CEO Andrey Boginsky said in a comment.
The Ansat is a lightweight twin-engine multirole helicopter. The request for helicopter certification in China was handed over to Chinese aviation authorities early this year.
