WASHINGTON, March 26. /TASS/. The US Administration sees no evidence that the collapse of the bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, was caused by an intentional malignant action.
"We are closely monitoring the tragic situation unfolding as a result of a containership colliding with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore," US Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said on his X page. "There are no indications this was an intentional act and we are assessing the impacts to the Port of Baltimore."
A White House official also told The Baltimore Sun that "there is no indication of any nefarious intent."
Commenting on the bridge collapse, the FBI representatives said that have "no specific and credible information to suggest any ties to terrorism at this time."
The bridge in Baltimore collapsed on March 25, when it was hit by the Dali freighter travelling under the flag of Singapore. According to the local authorities, at least seven people ended up in the water during the incident; two people have been saved.
