Obligatory evacuation of children underway from 9 Kiev-controlled villages near Avdeyevka

According to Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk, many of the evacuated people return to their home, thus losing the right to social payments

MOSCOW, March 19. /TASS/. Obligatory evacuation of children is underway from nine settlements near Avdeyevka in the Kiev-controlled part of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk said.

"Evacuation is already underway. From Avdeyevka and nine more settlements of the territorial community," she said in an interview with the Rada television channel.

According to Vereshchuk, many of the evacuated people return to their home, thus losing the right to social payments.

On March 7, Ukraine’s ministry of reintegration declared obligatory evacuation of children form four settlements in the Kiev-controlled part of the DPR. In all, twenty-eight children were to be evacuated.

Evacuation campaigns are regularly organized in Ukraine due to security considerations. In late 2023, around 4,000 people were evacuated from the Sumy Region and 300 children were evacuated from the Kupyansk district in late November.
