MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. Aircraft of the US-led international coalition violated Syrian airspace in the al-Tanf zone four times over the past 24 hours, the deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria (a division of the Russian Defense Ministry) said.

"Over the past 24 hours, four violations were registered in the Al Tanf zone, committed by a pair of F-16 fighters and a pair of A-10 Thunderbolt attack aircraft of the coalition," Rear Adm. Vadim Kulit said.

Also, the Russian reconciliation center registered five violations of the December 9, 2019 deconfliction protocols in the reported period. The incidents were related to flights that were not coordinated with the Russian side and involved unmanned aerial vehicles of the US-led international coalition.

In the Russian military official’s words, such actions set a dangerous precedent for air incidents and accidents, and escalate the general situation in Syria’s airspace.

Kulit also reported that two attacks on Syrian pro-government forces were registered in the Idlib de-escalation zone in the reported period. They both occurred in the Idlib Governorate and were carried out by members of Jabhat al-Nusra and the Islamic Party of Turkestan (terrorist groups, both outlawed in Russia).
