PARIS, March 7. /TASS/. President of France's far-right Rassemblement National (RN) party Jordan Bardella has demanded that the government set redlines in what concerns assistance to Kiev to avoid France’s direct involvement in the Ukrainian conflict.
"France must speak the language of peace and hold an equidistant position from the parties to the conflict, he said in an interview with the BFMTV television channel. "We need to set redlines so that France doesn’t become a participant in the conflict."
According to the television channel, French President Emmanuel Macron’s meeting with the leaders of the parliamentary opposition on aid to Ukraine failed to yield a compromise.
Manuel Bompard, a left-wing leader, said in turn that the left opposition "prefers to try to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict."
