MOSCOW, December 11. /TASS/. About 48% of US voters believe that Washington is spending too much on aid for Ukraine, the Financial Times writes, citing a poll conducted together with the Michigan University on December 5-6.
As many as 27% of those surveyed said that Washington was spending the "right amount" and only 11% said that the US was not spending enough.
As for Israel aid, about 40% of respondents believe that the US is spending too much and 30% said it’s enough.
According to researchers, the large share of those opposing US President Joe Biden’s policy towards military and financial aid for Ukraine and Israel comes from uncertainty about the state of the US economy. Only a quarter of those polled described it as either "good" or "excellent."
In October, the Washington administration asked the US Congress for additional funding for the 2024 fiscal year, particularly to provide aid to Israel and Ukraine and confront China and Russia in the Asia-Pacific region. The Biden administration is seeking to secure about $106 bln for these purposes.
