IDF urges Khan Yunis residents to evacuate to Rafah — statement

The Israeli army asks the residents to go to the resettlement sites for internally displaced persons

TEL AVIV, December 4. /TASS/. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has called on residents of the Palestinian town of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip to evacuate to the outskirts of the town of Rafah on the border with Egypt, army spokesman Avihai Edri said.

"Residents of the Gaza Strip, the IDF has resumed active hostilities against Hamas and other terrorist organizations in the enclave. In order to ensure your safety, we ask the residents of districts 36, 38-64 and 219-221 (according to the new December 1 division of Gaza into districts, this is the area of Khan Younis - TASS) to go to the resettlement sites for internally displaced persons, which are located in al-Shaboura, al-Fukhari, al-Zuhur and Tel al-Sultan (in and around Rafah - TASS)," Edri wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) page.

On December 1, the IDF published a map of the Gaza Strip with a new division into neighborhoods and districts to facilitate the evacuation of the enclave's residents, calling on civilians to find on it the number of the neighborhood in which they live or near which they are located, to follow the news about that neighborhood, and to abide by the Israeli military's instructions.

Hours before the release of the updated map of the enclave, the Israel Defense Forces resumed fighting in the Gaza Strip, accusing the radical Palestinian movement Hamas of disrupting the ceasefire.
