About half of Russia's countrymen already evacuated out of Gaza — Kremlin

"This process will continue, our emergency teams intend to keep on working," Dmitry Peskov said

MOSCOW, November 20. /TASS/. Efforts to evacuate Russians out of Gaza continue, Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a briefing.

"We are, of course, very carefully monitoring the work of our emergency teams and diplomats to evacuate from Gaza our fellow citizens wishing to leave that area. This work continues every day, quite strenuous work. We are happy that slightly less than half of those wishing to leave have already managed to get to the Russian Federation. This process will continue, our emergency teams intend to keep on working," Peskov said.

Over 500 people have already been flown to Russia from Gaza since November 12. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said earlier that over 1,000 people had put their names on the list of those who want to be evacuated from the Gaza Strip. The Ministry for Emergency Situations specified that this figure is constantly growing. They will all be evacuated to Russia, the ministry pledged.
