'Islamic Resistance in Iraq' group attacks US base in northeastern Syria

No information has been provided regarding the aftermath of the attack

BEIRUT, November 17. /TASS/. The Shi’i armed group ‘Islamic Resistance in Iraq’ has shelled the US-controlled military base in Tell Beydar (Al-Hasakah Governorate) in northeastern Syria, the group wrote on its Telegram channel.

It is claimed that the shelling was conducted in response to the "crimes committed [by Israel] against the [Palestinian] people in the Gaza Strip" with US support. It is said that the strike was carried out with two drones that managed to "hit their targets." No information has been provided regarding the aftermath of the attack.

On November 16, Qatari television channel Al Jazeera reported citing a Pentagon spokesperson that US-controlled bases in Syria and Iraq had been attacked 58 times since October 17.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden warned that if his country deems it necessary, it is ready to carry out new strikes on the groups which, as Washington claims, are backed by Iran and responsible for attacks on American troops in the Middle East.
