Israeli airstrike on Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza causes over 400 casualties

Palestinian Interior Ministry Spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra reported earlier that several residential houses were destroyed in the attack

BEIRUT, October 31. /TASS/. More than 400 people, nearly half of them children, were either killed or wounded after a series of Israeli airstrikes on the Jabalia refugee camp in the north of the Gaza Strip, the Al Hadath television channel reported on Tuesday, citing the Palestinian interior ministry.

The ministry’s spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra told Al Hadath earlier that several residential houses were destroyed in the attack, with casualties exceeding 100 people. He said that rescue workers were continuing to retrieve dead bodies and those injured from under the debris.

"Jabalia is the most densely populated area in the Palestinian enclave," he said.

Along with air raids on Jabalia, Beit Lahia, and Beit Hanoun, Israeli ground forces expanded operations in the Gaza Strip, involving some 20,000 troops.
