BEIRUT, June 14. /TASS/. Syria’s air defense units are engaging unknown targets above the capital Damascus in the early hours of Wednesday, the SANA news agency reported citing a military source.
"Syrian air defense units repelled an aggressive attack by Iserael, which carried out a missile strike on a number of military facilities in the southwest of the capital," the source said, adding that Syrian forces managed to shoot down some of the missiles.
"One soldier was seriously injured as a result of the attack. Damage was also reported," the source added.
The latest Israeli attack on Damascus occurred on May 29. On that day, missiles were fired towards positions held by Syrian troops from the airspace of the occupied Golan Heights.
