DPR leader does not rule out provisional tribunals of Ukrainian troops from Azovstal

Information about foreign mercenaries from Azovstal will be made public later, Denis Pushilin also noted

MOSCOW, May 23. /TASS/. Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin said on Monday he doesn’t rule out that provisional tribunals of Ukrainian nationalists from the Azovstal plant could be organized, with work on relevant documents being underway.

"As for prisoners of war, corresponding work is being conducted with them by relevant agencies. <…> As for their future lot, it is evident. Now, they are being kept on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic. It is planned to organize an international tribunal later," he said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 television channel.

"Corresponding documents are being drafted, the tribunal’s charter is being elaborated," he said. "It is not ruled out that provisional tribunals will be organized, like it was done after the Great Patriotic War (of 1941-1945). We remember there were tribunals in Kiev and Kharkov. I don’t rule out that we will follow this path."

According to Pushilin, information about foreign mercenaries from Azovstal will be made public later.
