Ukrainian flag downed at St. Petersburg consulate

The diplomats are expected to depart on March 2

ST. PETERSBURG, March 2. /TASS/. Ukrainian flag has been downed at the Ukrainian consulate general in St. Petersburg. Previously, the consulate employees also removed the plaque on the building.

According to Russian Foreign Ministry representative in St. Petersburg Vladimir Zapevalov, Ukrainian diplomats received a command from the Ukrainian Foreign Minister to evacuate the employees; Ukrainian diplomats are expected to depart on March 2. Consular services will be provided in third countries now.

Previously, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced that Ukraine severs its diplomatic ties with Russia. On February 24, the Russian Foreign Ministry received a diplomatic note from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
