KAZAN, November 14. /TASS/. Educational programs at the branch of the National Research University Moscow Power Engineering Institute (MPEI) in the southern Chinese province of Hainan will be tailored to meet the modern needs of the Russian and Chinese markets. Classes at the university will be held in three languages, said Elena Gulicheva, head of the international cooperation department at MPEI, speaking at the 2nd International Forum Rostki: Russia and China - Mutually Beneficial Cooperation.
"This is quite an ambitious project that will create a unique platform for training specialists in demand in both countries. At the university we are planning trilingual education, international faculty members and the development of educational programs that will be tailored to the modern demands of the markets in both Russia and China," she said, speaking at the session "Educational and scientific cooperation between Russia and China: new projects and development trends".
According to her, several educational campuses will be built within the framework of the project. The main university campus will be located at the Wenchang International Aerospace City, and another campus is planned to be built in the provincial capital of Haikou. "These teaching and research spaces will allow us to implement joint educational programs, develop science and innovation, and create a unique environment for students," Gulicheva added.
Earlier, it was reported that the groundbreaking ceremony of NIU MPEI in Hainan took place on January 30.
The International Forum Rostki: Russia and China - Mutually Beneficial Cooperation will be held in Kazan on 13-15 November. The Forum's business program includes 70 sessions on trade, investment, technology, logistics, petrochemicals, agriculture, education, tourism and other topics. More than 10,000 participants are expected to attend, including representatives from 69 Russian regions and 26 Chinese administrative divisions. The Forum will also host the Russia China Expo international exhibition and will offer an extensive cultural program to all participants.
