BelSU launches network postgraduate programs jointly with Moscow, Lugansk universities

The program covers "Plant breeding, seed production and biotechnology," "Pharmacology, clinical pharmacology" and "Geoecology" specialists

BELGOROD, November 22. /TASS/. Belgorod State University (BelSU), jointly with three partner universities from Moscow and Lugansk, has launched postgraduate training network programs in the current academic year, where the Belgorod postgraduates will conduct part of their scientific work, the press service of the university reported.

"BelSU launched postgraduate training network programs in three scientific specialties. The Federal Williams Research Center of Forage Production and Agroecology, Lugansk State Medical University named after St. Luke and the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences became partners in the development and implementation of postgraduate training network programs," the press service said.

The program covers "Plant breeding, seed production and biotechnology", "Pharmacology, clinical pharmacology" and "Geoecology" specialties. BelSU's three postgraduate students are already undergoing scientific and practical training in three different partner universities. The network format is designed to improve the quality of research and academic mobility of the students, expand their information and communication capabilities, optimize training through a flexible modular ratio of theoretical and practical training.

"Young scientists will have access to the most modern scientific and educational technologies and learning tools of partner organizations, will be able to effectively use the resources of two universities at once, adopt the experience of teachers, they will make scientific contacts with colleagues from other regions for possible participation in joint research and development", the press service of the university explained.

According to Nikolay Repnikov, the BelSU Acting Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, effective scientific and educational partnerships are one of the strategic goals of the university, and the network format is an example of creating a modern scientific and educational environment based on the integration of partners' potential, aimed at achieving the goals of the Priority-2030 program.

"The network postgraduate programs will strengthen the training of scientific personnel in priority areas included in the Priority-2030 university development program, such as "New materials and engineering solutions", "Development of genetic technologies" and "Environmental management and biotechnology", the BelSU press service quoted Repnikov as saying.
