NOVO-OGARYOVO, January 24. /TASS/. Twenty-five civilians have been killed and 96 more have been wounded in Russia’s southern Belgorod region as a result of shelling by Ukrainian troops, Belgorod region governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Tuesday.
"Ukraine, the enemy, continues to shell peaceful settlements. Twenty-five people have been killed and 96 more have been wounded," he said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the governor, the local authorities offer the same financial assistance to the families of civilians killed or wounded as a result of shelling as to the families of servicemen in the zone of the special military operation.
