Arson attempts against Russian embassies in Western countries to be investigated

Yevgeny Ivanov earlier said that arson attempts against Russian embassies and attempts to cause traffic accidents involving Russian diplomats had been reported in a number of Western countries

MOSCOW, January 16. /TASS/. Russia’s Investigative Committee said on Monday that it will look into reports about illegal actions against Russian diplomatic and consular missions in a number of Western countries.

"Cases of international law violations by foreign states have been reported, including in what concerns the security of Russian diplomatic missions and consular establishments. Moreover, cases of not only provocations but also the use of violence against Russian foreign missions and their personnel have been reported," the committee said, adding that its chief has instructed the committee’s main investigations directorate to record this information and probe into such cases.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Ivanov told TASS earlier that arson attempts against Russian embassies and attempts to cause traffic accidents involving Russian diplomats had been reported in a number of Western countries.
