People covering for extremist family members evicted from Zaporozhye region — authorities

Earlier, Yevgeny Balitsky said that deportation to the territory of Ukraine as a measure to fight the accomplices of the Ukrainian military will be in place in the Zaporozhye region throughout the entire transition period

SIMFEROPOL, January 16. /TASS/. Relatives of extremists, who were aware of their crimes but did not report them to the competent authorities, are being deported from the Zaporozhye region, the region's acting Governor Yevgeny Balitsky said on Monday.

"If family members knew that the person was engaged in extremist activities, the family members will also be deported from the territory of the Zaporozhye region," the governor told the Crimea-24 TV channel.

This is "a category of people who were indirectly involved in murder, blowing up of bridges and power lines," he specified. "If the information [about the extremist] was not reported, this makes them accomplices. Under the law, we have the right to expel them from the territory of the Zaporozhye region. Once again I say: we consider this humane", Balitsky stressed.
