MOSCOW, March 24. /TASS/. Sending pathogenic biomaterials from Ukraine to Europe could lead to a situation comparable to the COVID-19 pandemic, chief of Russia's radiation, chemical and biological protection force Igor Kirillov said on Thursday.
"The current situation with the distribution of pathogenic biomaterials from Ukraine to European countries could result in death and create a hotbed of epidemiological instability, the scale of which would be comparable to the COVID-19 pandemic," Kirillov said.
Since the onset of the pandemic, over 475.8 mln coronavirus cases and about 6.1 mln fatalities have been recorded worldwide. According to Russia’s federal anti-coronavirus crisis center, the country has so far confirmed 17,690,008 cases and 366,220 deaths.
