Prosecutor General’s Office to inspect companies curtailing operations in Russia

It was reported that prosecutors adopted tighter control over compliance with labor legislation

MOSCOW, March 11. /TASS/. Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office will observe compliance with the employees’ rights in companies which announced their withdrawal from the Russian market, the agency’s press service told TASS.

"On behalf of the Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov, in order to safeguard the interests of bona fide entrepreneurs and employees of organizations whose managers announced the suspension of activities in the territory of the Russian Federation, prosecutors have tightened supervision over compliance with the current legislation," the agency noted.

It said that prosecutors adopted tighter control over compliance with labor legislation, including the terms of employment contracts, the procedure for salary payments and determining its amount, the fulfillment of obligations assumed to contractors, as well as obligations to Russia.

The Prosecutor General drew particular attention to the observance of the rights of vulnerable social groups of workers - individuals with disabilities, pregnant women, and those with young children, citizens of pre-retirement and retirement age.
