Number of people evacuated to Russia from Donbass and Ukraine approached 200,000 — source

About 24,000 citizens of Russia, Ukraine, and other states crossed the border through the checkpoints of the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk regions, and Crimea

MOSCOW, March 8. /TASS/. The number of residents of Donetsk and Lugansk Peopl’s Republics (DPR, LPR), as well as Ukraine who arrived in Russia has approached 200,000, law enforcement agencies told TASS on Tuesday.

"As of the morning of March 8, 197,900 people crossed the Russian border, more than 173,000 of them arrived from the DPR and LPR, starting from February 18, when the authorities of these republics announced the evacuation," the source said.

According to the source, about 24,000 citizens of Russia, Ukraine, and other states crossed the border through the checkpoints of the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk regions, and Crimea. The law enforcement agencies specified that there were around 50,000 children among those who arrived in Russia.
