Social media post about bomb threats prompts mass evacuation of Russian schools

The source noted that no explosive devices had been found

MOSCOW, February 8. /TASS/. A social media post about bomb threats has prompted mass evacuation of schools in Russia’s regions, a source in the law enforcement agencies told TASS on Monday.

"Mass inspections of schools across Russia began after a post on the Likee social network about bomb threats in schools," the source said. He added that a schoolgirl had seen it and told her parents about it, who got in touch with the police. "This information was handed over to emergency services in the regions for verification," he said.

The source noted that no explosive devices had been found. A number of schools were evacuated for safety reasons. An investigation is underway.

All schools and kindergartens in Moscow and the Moscow region were earlier searched, no explosive objects were found there.
