The development of economies, social sphere and the natural balance in the world depend on access to safe energy sources, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his greeting to the participants of the Atomexpo-2024 international forum. His greeting was read by presidential aide Igor Levitin.

"I would like to underscore that the development of national economies, the social sphere, the preservation of the natural and climatic balance of our planet today directly depends on ensuring access to stable environmental and safe energy sources. Nuclear generation plays an important role here," the greeting says.

According to Putin, "domestic nuclear technologies effectively serve science, industry, medicine, contribute to the implementation of large-scale space programs, and make a truly unique contribution to the development of the Arctic."

"I am confident that the forum will be held in a constructive manner and will contribute to the development of consolidated approaches to the use of peaceful nuclear energy and the launch of joint projects in this extremely important area," the greeting to the participants says.

Putin also called the Atomexpo 2024 forum a platform that gives participants an excellent opportunity to discuss current professional issues, exchange best experiences and practices, and establish promising business contacts.
