VIENNA, December 28. /TASS/. Austrians are tired of senseless sanctions against Russia, though the republic’s authorities ignore this sentiment, Russian Ambassador to Vienna Dmitry Lyubinsky told TASS.
"Not only public opinion polls highlight senseless anti-Russia sanctions burnout of the Austrian people, though they are quite eloquent, but stably low ratings of the current government coalition as well. Speaking about European dimension, fresh polls say that more than half of Austrians are confident that anti-Russia sanctions have rather negative influence on the economy of the whole European Union. The unfriendly policy makers of Austria try to ignore this sentiment," he said.
Average citizens of the country are not satisfied with rampant growth of prices related to sanctions, with annual inflation in the republic having reached almost 8% with unprecedented peaks up to 11%. Despite this, the Austrian leadership keeps speaking about supporting Ukraine, "as much as suffices," Lyubinsky concluded.
