Lavrov warns Africa about West’s attempts to recreate colonial dependence

"No advice made in an instructional tone, no hybrid wars of the West (including in Ukraine) can stop the development of new centers of economic power, of financial and political clout," he added

MITSIWA /Eritrea/, January 27. /TASS/. Western nations, who demand that African countries do not cooperate with Russia, are attempting to recreate colonial dependence of the African continent in a new form, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters at a news conference after talks with his Eritrean counterpart Osman Saleh.

"We are aware that US, UK and other delegations regularly visit Africa and, with an art worthy of a better cause, demand that African countries refrain from cooperating with the Russian delegation, that they remain a part some common discipline - which largely implies restoration of colonial dependence, but in a new form," the minister said.

"No advice made in an instructional tone, no hybrid wars of the West (including in Ukraine) can stop the development of new centers of economic power, of financial and political clout," Lavrov added.
