Oxygen pipe rupture eliminated at Kommunarka hospital for COVID-19 patients

The incident poses no risk either to the patients or to the hospital staff

MOSCOW, November 18. /TASS/. The work to eliminate the oxygen line rupture at one of the temporary facilities on the premises of the Kommunarka hospital has been completed, the Moscow City Health Department told TASS on Wednesday.

"The work to eliminate the consequences of depressurization of the oxygen supply line is complete at a temporary unit in the Kommunarka hospital. The incident poses no risk either to the patients or to the hospital staff," the press service said.

It was reported earlier that there were no patients in the newly erected unit, where startup and commissioning work was underway. The patients have already been transferred from the neighboring units to those that are not connected to the facility affected by the depressurization. No one was injured in the incident and the lives and health of both the patients and the staff are not in jeopardy. Each patient’s condition is under the control of the chief physician.

A source told TASS that on Wednesday evening, the oxygen supply line burst at a temporary unit at Moscow’s Kommunarka hospital for COVID-19 patients. The incident is said to have no impact on the hospital’s operation. The pipe rupture damaged the outer panels of the unit. A source with emergency services told TASS that there were no patients in that facility.

The Moscow health department said that the patients undergoing treatment at the Kommunarka hospital were not in jeopardy after the oxygen supply line had depressurized at a temporary unit.
