Approximately 1,700 houses in Mariupol reconstructed — Putin

The head of state described the current scenario in Mariupol as a construction boom

MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. Approximately 1,700 houses in the city of Mariupol in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) have been rebuilt, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted during the Q&A session combined with his annual press conference.

"I have been there and know all of it, and my colleagues from the government provide regular updates on the progress. Approximately 1,700 houses have been reconstructed, but not all of them have been occupied yet. The documentation for over 500 houses is now being finalized, but the homes are ready," the Russian leader said.

The president emphasized that Mariupol has been a focal point because it is a big city. "Houses are being restored and newly constructed. Local authorities have chosen to clear and transfer to property developers <…> the areas with structures that cannot be salvaged. And then homes with a mortgage rate of 2% will appear there. This 2% mortgage rate will also apply to the new territory," he added.
