MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Members of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) and the Belarusian State Security Committee (KGB) have conducted talks in Moscow to lay out priority areas of interaction for the near future, the SVR press bureau said in a statement.
"During the meeting, the results of joint work in various areas of intelligence activities were reviewed. Tasks and priorities of bilateral cooperation for the near future were discussed," the SVR reported.
The press bureau noted that the parties emphasized the rapid development, constructive, mutually beneficial and trusting nature of cooperation between the SVR and the KGB and its singular focus to do whatever it takes to protect Russia and Belarus' national interests. "The parties emphasized that the Russian and Belarusian special services are entrusted with increased responsibility in uncovering the West's hostile plans against the two countries in a timely manner, as well as protecting and strengthening the defense, industrial and technological capabilities of the Union State," the statement reads.
