MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called the recent European envoys’ refusal to meet with him for explanations ahead of the Russian presidential elections a boorishness.
"This is a great mystery for me. Basically, this is boorishness," Lavrov said in an interview for Vladimir Soloviev.
When asked what is the point of having European envoys in Moscow if they are afraid to meet with the Russian Foreign Minister, Lavrov said:
"If they treat an opportunity to talk to the representatives of the Russian authorities like this, then we will, of course, take into consideration that they have no interest in that. Let them stay in their offices for a while, talk to their capitals by phone," Lavrov added.
Previously, the Foreign Minister said that he invited European envoys for a meeting in order to provide explanations ahead of the Russian presidential elections, but the envoys refused to come two days ahead of the set date.
