MOSCOW, December 26. /TASS/. Eight people have already submitted documents to the Central Election Commission for registering as Russian presidential candidates, Central Election Commission Deputy Chairman Nikolay Bulayev told TASS.
He said one of the nominees had been denied request to register a group of voters due to multiple violations in the paperwork that was submitted.
Bulayev said a total of 33 people have so far notified the CEC of their intention to hold conventions of political parties and meetings of groups of voters to nominate them as candidates.
The people who have already filed for registration include Russian President Vladimir Putin and some candidates nominated by political parties, including those that have factions in the State Duma.
Russia is set to hold a presidential election from March 15-17, 2024 года.
