Russia's Battlegroup South repels two Ukrainian attacks near Kleshcheyevka

Counterbattery warfare reportedly destroyed a Ukrainian M-109 Palladin self-propelled gun as well as two 152mm Acacia self-propelled guns

MOSCOW, December 8. /TASS/. The Russian Army's Battlegroup South repelled two attempted assaults by the Ukrainian armed forces' 67th Mechanized Brigade near Kleshcheyevka, Spokesman Vadim Astafyev told TASS.

"Units of Battlegroup South, supported by aviation and artillery as well as heavy flamethrowers, successfully repelled two attacks on our positions by assault groups of the Ukrainian armed forces' 67th Mechanized Brigade near the village of Kleshcheyevka. The adversary lost up to 175 men in killed and wounded," he said.

Counterbattery warfare destroyed a Ukrainian M-109 Palladin self-propelled gun, two 152mm Acacia self-propelled guns, a 122mm self-propelled Gvozdika 2S1 gun, a 122mm D-30 howitzer and a 105mm M-119 gun. Artillery and kamikaze drones destroyed three armored vehicles and two automobiles. The air defense downed 14 Ukrainian drones near Verkhnyaya Kamenka and Soledar in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the spokesman said.
