OSCE commissioners can be replaced in three months’ time — Lavrov

According to the top Russian diplomat, there is a need to hire normal leaders who would not act like puppets controlled by string-pullers

SKOPJE, December 1. /TASS/. A three-month extension of the current OSCE commissioners’ mandates would be enough time to replace them with competent leaders, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

"Let me be frank, the Permanent Council is now holding its meeting, where our representatives to the OSCE are discussing the situation around these four figures who are still heading the OSCE secretariat’s structures, until the day after tomorrow. There is some bargaining - a year or nine months, but I think three months would be enough to go through the selection process and finally hire normal leaders who would not act like puppets controlled by string-pullers," he said after attending the OSCE ministerial meeting.

"As for me, I don’t care how this meeting ends, as it concerns not the future of people in Europe but the future of these four people. It is sad, very sad," he added.
