MOSCOW, November 27. /TASS/. Russia will not shut its door on clear-headed players in the West who can objectively look at the challenges of multipolarity, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.
"We don’t want to close the door, or the window, or the pane, as President [of Russia Vladimir] Putin has recently said, on conscientious players in the historical West once they understand the realities and challenges of the objective processes of multipolarity, the challenges Yevgeny Maximovich Primakov anticipated in the distant past," he said at the Primakov Readings forum.
He stressed that Russia will continue to "fight for truth and justice, so that the voice of all countries is taken into account regardless of their size, the state system or economic development." "In other words, as it was written in the UN Charter back in 1945," he noted.
He also pledged that Russia will continue "the closest possible" coordination with its allies and partners in the global South and in the East. "Special focus in the diplomatic sphere will be made on ensuring uniform interpretation and practical use of all the principles of the UN Charter. This is the most important element of our policy," Lavrov added.
"We will continue our work on the expansion of such a promising association as the New York-based Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations," the top Russian diplomat said. "We will also make efforts to strengthen other structures geared to promote the democratization of international relations. With this in mind, we stay open for an honest and serious dialogue with anyone who values their national interests and who demonstrate reciprocal readiness."
The 9th Primakov Readings international forum is being held in Moscow from November 27 to 28. TASS is the general information partner of the Primakov Readings international forum and conference.
