Russia ready to complete deliveries for CSTO joint air defenses, says Putin

According to the President, Russia have already delivered two batallions of S-300 air defense systems to Tajikistan

MOSCOW, November 22. /TASS/. Russia has delivered two battalions of S-300 surface-to-air missile systems to Tajikistan and is ready to complete deliveries for the integrated air defense system of the CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) member states, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday.

Speaking at a government meeting on creating the post-Soviet security bloc’s joint air defenses, Putin said: "We have already delivered two battalions of our S-300 air defense systems comprising eight launchers to Tajikistan."

"As a whole, we are ready for work, ready to continue and complete this work for the CSTO," Putin stressed.

The head of state pointed to considerable progress in creating the CSTO joint air defenses. "We have already carried out considerable work on this track," he said.

"But let me remind you that the government should issue a corresponding resolution before the end of the year," Putin stressed.

"This is a technicality but I request you to pay attention to it and carry it through," he told the government meeting.
