MOSCOW, November 20. /TASS/. More than 120,000 foreign nationals used e-visas for traveling to Russia from August 1, 2023, the Consular Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry said on its Telegram channel.
"We take note of proactive digitalization of processes in the migration sphere, particularly the Russian unified electronic visa (UEV) that is enjoying increasingly higher popularity," the ministry said.
"Overall, more than 120,000 foreigners have already used such visas for trips to Russia during the period from the UEV project launch since August 1, 2023," it noted.
Nationals of fifty-five countries can use of such visas for short-term trips to Russia (up to sixteen days) and no physical visit to a consulate, a visa center or a travel agency is required, the department said.
"In view of convenience of this instrument, we expect further growth of the unified e-visas’ share as part of the total number of visas issue for private, tourist, business, and other short-term goals," the ministry added.
