Lavrov lauds 'golden age' of Russia-China relations

It is noted that the level of relations was fixed in joint documents, of which the latest was signed last February, when Russian President Vladimir Putin visited China

MOSCOW, January 18. /TASS/. Relations between Russia and China have reached a high-water mark, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference on the results of Russian diplomacy in 2022.

"Our relations with the People’s Republic of China are certainly at a high point in the history of these relations, as our leaders have been saying," Lavrov emphasized.

The level of relations was fixed in joint documents, of which the latest was signed last February, when Russian President Vladimir Putin visited China. Bilateral relations are reflected in the context of solidarity, Lavrov said. "You remember the description our Chinese friends once gave to these relations - as something other than an alliance or a union, yet stronger than a union in many ways," he added. He lauded the relationship as trusting, pragmatic, respectful, and based on a balance of interests, a format he said was ideal for relations with any country.
