MOSCOW, January 18. /TASS/. Kiev will continue the legacy of ex-Ukrainian Presidential Aide Alexey Arestovich following his resignation and the regime’s strategy won’t change, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Sputnik radio station on Wednesday.
"His life and fate are linked with the Kiev regime, so let them figure out what to do with him and which way they all will interact there in that clique of so-called associates. People who lack moral and ethical principles, <…> who are capable of wielding influence, have always been kept at some distance because they were indecent. <…> Not because of a past mistake but for an utter lack of integrity. <…> And the fact that many times he said one thing, then another, then a third one - that’s their tactic, they have persistently been doing this even before him and, I think, the same will continue after him," she said.
According to Zakharova, Arestovich became the official face of the Kiev regime for the entire world in 2022, he "personified everything that was going on at Bankovaya."
The diplomat added that, in her opinion, following his resignation, Arestovich will remain in the information field. "People like that don’t sink," she explained.
Former Ukrainian Presidential Aide Alexey Arestovich submitted a notice of resignation on January 14 following criticism for his remarks about a projectile downed by Ukrainian air defenses which triggered the partial collapse of a residential building in Dnepropetrovsk resulting in multiple fatalities. On January 16, Ukrainian legislator Alexey Goncharenko reported that a petition to fire him was launched. On January 17, Ukraine’s presidential office accepted his resignation.
